1. I didn't want to paint my face, so I chose to paint fruit on a plate.
2. On my instagram, you can see in my progress shots that I am painting a lemon.
3. I chose yellow and purple because they are opposites, and I chose the plate to be black&white so not too much attention would be drawn to it Then i painted my hand orange because I felt like the other colours would clash too much with the work.
4. If my artwork was to be displayed in a public space, I would pay more attention to the top of my hand, as it isn't my best work.
5. I put light colours on the places where the light would naturally hit. I painted a shadow under the plate. I painted darker colours on where shadows would naturally be.
